In Taipei, teenager Chen Jian-ho faces the consequences of an attack that results in his friend cutting off a young mans hand, leading to his imprisonment, disownment by his father, struggles to support his pregnant girlfriend, the suicide of his older brother, and a violent encounter with the friend who initially convinced him to commit the crime. A Sun is written by Chung Mong-hong and Chang Yao-sheng and it is directed by Chung Mong-hong. Applause Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the movie. A Sun was released on 1st November 2019 and takes a screen time of 155 minutes. A Sun was made on a budget of $44 million and at the box office it grossed only $20 million.
