A Star Is Born is a 1937 American English-language Drama Romance film featuring Janet Gaynor, Fredric March, Adolphe Menjou, May Robson, Andy Devine, Lionel Stander and Michael Jeffers. Selznick International Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) David O. Selznick. The movie is directed by William A. Wellman. United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. A Star Is Born was released on 27th April 1937 and takes a screen time of 111 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. A Star Is Born was made on a budget of $36 million and at the box office it grossed only $4 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Dorothy Parker, Alan Campbell and Robert Carson. Cinematography was done by W. Howard Greene and editing by James E. Newcom and Anson Stevenson. The music was composed by Max Steiner. At the 1938 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Writing, Original Story.
