In the 1940s, a young boy named Ralphie attempts to convince his parents, his teacher, and Santa that a Red Ryder B.B. gun really is the perfect Christmas gift. A Christmas Story is a 1983 American English-language Comedy Family motion picture featuring Melinda Dillon, Darren Mcgavin, Peter Billingsley, Scott Schwartz, Jean Shepherd, Ian Petrella and Kristephan Warren-stevens. The movie is based on In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepherd. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ren Dupont and Bob Clark. A Christmas Story is written by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Bob Clark and it is directed by Bob Clark. MGM/UA Entertainment Co. acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The movie has a running time of 93 minutes. A Christmas Story was made on a budget of $3 million and at the box office it grossed only $0 million. Cinematography was done by Reginald H.
