In 1987 Korea, under an oppressive military regime, a college student gets killed during a police interrogation involving torture. Government officials are quick to cover up the death and order the body to be cremated. A prosecutor who is supposed to sign the cremation release, raises questions about a 21-year-old kid dying of a heart attack, and begins looking into the case for the truth. Despite a systematic attempt to silence everyone involved in the case, the truth gets out, causing an eruption of public outrage. 1987: When the Day Comes is a 2017 Korean Korean-language Drama film featuring Kim Yoon-seok, Ha Jung-woo, Yoo Hae-jin, Kim Tae-ri, Park Hee-soon, Lee Hee-joon and Jo-a Yang. Woojeung Film was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jung Won-chan and Jang Young-hwan. 1987: When the Day Comes is written by Kim Kyung-chan and directed by Jang Joon-hwan. CJ Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. 1987: When the Day Comes was released on 1st February 2018 and takes a screen time of 129 minutes. 1987: When the Day Comes was made on a budget of ₹1500 crore and at the box office it grossed only $54 million. Cinematography was done by Kim Woo-hyung and editing by Yang Jin-mo. The music was composed by Kim Tae-seong.
