A hiker named Aron Ralston goes on a solo expedition in Canyonlands National Park, gets trapped under a boulder for five days, and is forced to amputate his own arm to survive before ultimately being rescued. 127 Hours is a 2010 English-language Adventure Biography film starring James Franco, Amber Tamblyn, Kate Mara, Cl Mence Po Sy, Sean Bott, Koleman Stinger and Chris Stuckmann. The movie is based on Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston. Path in association with Everest Entertainment, Film4 Productions, HandMade Films and Cloud Eight Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Christian Colson, Danny Boyle and John Smithson. 127 Hours is written by Danny Boyle, Simon Beaufoy and Aron Ralston and it is directed by Danny Boyle. Warner Bros. Entertainment UK acquired the distribution rights for the movie. 127 Hours was released on 17th February 2011 and takes a screen time of 94 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. 127 Hours was made on a budget of $18 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $60 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Danny Boyle and Simon Beaufoy. Cinematography was done by Anthony Dod Mantle and Enrique Chediak and editing by Jon Harris. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A. R. Rahman.
