Filmation Associates in association with 20th Century Fox Television. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Anthony Katagas, Arnon Milchan, Bill Pohlad, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Steve Mcqueen. 12 Years a Slave is written by John Ridley and Solomon Northup and it is directed by Steve Mcqueen. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the film. 12 Years a Slave was released on 19th December 2013 and takes a screen time of 134 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. 12 Years a Slave was made on a budget of $20 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $187 million.
