Tatineni Prakash Rao (24 November 1924 – 1 July 1992) was a famous Indian filmmaker. He made a number films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. His first film was Palletooru (1952). He made Pichi Pullaiah, Jayam Manade with N. T. Rama Rao. He worked with both N.T. Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao in films Charana Dasi and Parivartana (1954). He was born in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, India. He was first attracted towards Communist movement and was part of Praja Natya Mandali. Later he moved to Madras to join film industry like many others who did not the like the turn of events in the communist movement. He started his career as an assistant to L. V. Prasad, another famous film maker. He also worked with K. V. Reddy for some time. His son TLV Prasad entered into Limca Book of World Records for his ability in churning out movies continuously. His grandson Tatineni Satya also entered into film industry with the film Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu.
