Poornima Bhagyaraj (born Poornima Jayaram) is an Indian film actress of Tamil and Malayalam films. She has also did a few Hindi and Telugu films. She is best known for her leading roles from 1980 to 1985. Her on-screen pairing with Mohan in Tamil and Shankar in Malayalam was well acclaimed. She married Tamil director, actor, producer and script-writer K. Bhagyaraj on February 7, 1984 and has a daughter, Saranya, and a son, Shantanu. She voluntarily quit acting in films in 1984 prior to her marriage with actor K. Bhagyaraj. However, she made a comeback movie as an mother's role in Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer in 2013.
