Paula Jean Swearengin (born 1973/74) is an American activist and political candidate from West Virginia. A member of the Democratic Party, she is associated with the progressive organizations Justice Democrats and Brand New Congress. She ran against incumbent U.S. Senator Joe Manchin in the 2018 Democratic primary but was defeated, winning 30.21% of the vote. She is currently running for a Senate seat against Republican Shelley Moore Capito in 2020.
