Josep Borrell i Fontelles (born 24 April 1947 in La Pobla de Segur, Lleida) is a Spanish politician. On June 7, 2018, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain. He was the President of the European Parliament from 20 July 2004 until 16 January 2007.
