Jaime Omar García (born July 8, 1986) is a Mexican professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). The St. Louis Cardinals drafted him in the 22nd round of the 2005 MLB Draft from Sharyland High School in Mission, Texas, and he made his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 2008. He was traded to the Braves following the 2016 season. A member of the 2011 World Series championship Cardinals, García has struggled with injury throughout his career, reaching 100 innings pitched in just three of five seasons since 2010. In 2010, he was third in the National League Rookie of the Year balloting while posting the fourth-best earned run average in the league. The next season, he was ninth in winning percentage. He is under contract with the Braves through 2017.
