Harmanpreet was born on 6 January 1996 in the outskirts of Amritsar. Since childhood, he had a keen interest in hockey. When he was 15-years old, he joined Surjit Hockey Academy, Jalandhar with the hopes of becoming a forward. However, his fate had decided something else.
