Corey Jantzen is an American film actor and writer. He is known for his work in the academy award nominated film Foxcatcher, where he played a wrestler on Team Foxcatcher and helped choreograph the critically acclaimed wrestling sequences. Jantzen also landed roles in projects like Dixieland, The Normal Heart and worked on the set of the academy award-winning film American Hustle. Jantzen started his acting tenure with a conservatory at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. During his time at Stella Alder he performed in the productions of Den of Thieves and The History Boys. Theatre critic Bill Garry applauded his work as Sal [Den of Thieves], stating "Among the mob boys, Corey Michael Jantzen makes Sal, the trigger-happy ‘goomba’ come alive." Jantzen is a partner of the production company, TC Entertainment, along with his brother Jesse Jantzen. Jantzen graduated from Harvard University in 2013. Jantzen was also a very successful wrestler for Harvard and team captain. Despite suffering a career ending injury, Jantzen was a 3x NCAA qualifier. Jantzen was ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation at 141lbs and No. 5 at 149 lbs. Jantzen graduated from Shoreham Wading River High School and was an accomplished high school wrestlers. Jantzen was ranked No. 1 in the nation at 135lbs by Intermat wrestling finishing his senior season. Jantzen won 2 Division I New York State Wrestling Championships and was awarded the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the 2006 State Tournament. He was a 5x league champion and 4x county champion. Jantzen was a FILA Cadet World Trial champion. Jantzen was one of 4 high school wrestlers to be invited to participate in the Ken Kraft Midlands Championship, a highly competitive open tournament primarily featuring collegiate wrestlers and Olympic hopefuls. Jantzen placed 7th in the tournament beating several collegiate All-Americans. Despite his success at the tournament, the NYPHSAA deemed Jantzen ineligible to compete half of his senior season stating that they were unaware that collegiate athletes would be participating in the Midlands tournament. After much discussion, Jantzen was able to compete in the post-season. Jantzen finished his senior season compiling a 185-7 high school record ending his high school career with 87 straight victories. Jantzen volunteers with the Beat the Streets (BTS) chapter in L.A. and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Jantzen is one of five children. His older brother Jesse was the most decorated wrestler in Harvard University and Shoreham Wading River High School history.
