Writer, producer, director Christopher Peditto studied drama at Carnegie-Mellon University, and with Robert Lewis (founding member of New York's revolutionary Group Theatre and co-founder of The Actors Studio), before co-founding igLoo Theatre in Chicago, in 1985. As producing artistic director of igLoo, Peditto directed plays by Sam Shepard, Luigi Pirandello, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Antonin Artaud, Dario Fo & Franca Rame, as well as the critically-acclaimed Chicago premiere of Lee Breuer’s "A Prelude To Death In Venice." He adapted for the stage and directed "The Saga of Arturo Bandini" (based on John Fante's novel The Road to Los Angeles; Igloo, Chicago), Jim Thompson’s "The Killer Inside Me" (Off-Broadway, Currican, New York City) and Charles Bukowski’s "Pulp" (Off-Broadway, SoHo Rep, New York City). He has co-produced documentaries for HBO, including the Emmy award-winning films "Talked to Death" and "Dead Blue: Surviving Depression," and worked as a producer at HBO from 2000-2015. Peditto made his feature film directorial debut with "Light and the Sufferer" (Vivendi Universal). Starring Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine), and based on a story by author Jonathan Lethem, the film premiered at the 2007 Edmonton International Film Festival. Peditto wrote the screenplay "Black Wings Has My Angel" (with "Wild at Heart" writer Barry Gifford, based on the classic 1952 novel by Elliott Chaze. Tom Hiddleston, Anna Paquin and Elijah Wood were attached to star, in 2012. The film is currently in turnaround. Peditto recently directed the dark comedy "Fearing's Funhouse," based on the life and poetry of hardboiled writer Kenneth Fearing. The play premiered in November, 2016 at Club Monument in Sarajevo, Bosnia. It will be released as the feature film "Fearing in Sarajevo" in 2018.
