Cherprang Areekul (เฌอปราง อารีย์กุล, , t͡ɕʰɤː.praːŋ ʔaː.riː.kun; born 2 May 1996) is a member of the Thai idol girl group BNK48, an international sister group of the Japanese idol girl group AKB48. She is one of the first-generation members of the group, and is also the first and current captain of the group. She was known as a cosplayer prior to joining BNK48 in 2017. In 2018, she began her acting career with a lead role in Homestay, a GDH 559's film released in October that year. A science student at the Mahidol University International College since 2014, she has also worked as a research assistant and coauthored a research paper with her professors. She has participated in various scientific activities, both domestically and abroad, and it has been announced that her portrait will be carried in a satellite to be launched into space in 2019.
