Bhaurao Nanasaheb Karhade is a film-maker and a farmer from the Ahmednagar District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. He studied Communication Studies at the New Arts, Commerce and Science College in Ahmednagar, where he was introduced to Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali, which became his biggest inspiration as a filmmaker. In order to finance his first movie Khwada, Karhade sold five acres of farmland originally belonging to his family.
