The following is a list of candidates from the British reality television series The Apprentice. Ever since the show first aired in 2005, there have been a total of 218 candidates - The winners of the series in chronological order are - Tim Campbell, Michelle Dewberry, Simon Ambrose, Lee McQueen, Yasmin Siadatan, Stella English, Tom Pellerau, Ricky Martin, Leah Totton, Mark Wright, Joseph Valente, Alana Spencer, James White, Sarah Lynn, Sian Gabbidon and Carina Lepore. The winner's prize was originally a six figure job working for Lord Alan Sugar as an Apprentice at Amstrad, a very successful computer and electronics business which Lord Sugar started at 16. However, from Series 7-onwards the prize changed from a job to a £250,000 investment into their business idea as well as becoming Lord Sugar's business partner. The first and so far only contestant to receive the investment without winning their respective series was Series 7 runner-up Susie Ma who invented Tropic Skincare which has been recognised as the fastest growing skincare brand in the UK and has also sold 3.3 million products per year. Although Ma technically did not win the series and lost to winner Tom Pellerau, Lord Sugar said: “After filming ends, I tell all the contestants to give me a call if they need me. At the You’re Hired show after The Apprentice final, I mentioned Susan as someone I’d be contacting in the future." The business was then launched in 2012. Other former notable candidates include Katie Hopkins who appeared on Series 3 of the programme in 2007, where she came in 3rd place. Since then she has been the subject of many controversial media stories. Making Hopkins the most iconic and controversial candidate in the history of the show. The show's only two candidates to later pass away are: Adenike Ogundoyin from Series 1 who died on 3 September 2011 after collapsing at a meeting and Stuart Baggs from Series 6 who died on 30 July 2015, age 27, from an asthma attack.
