He made his film debut with the 1982 film Gandhi which won the Academy Award for Best Picture for that year. He appeared in soap opera Rishtey that aired from 1999-2001. He appeared in the Star Plus serial Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai. He later worked in Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
